The Buffalo Bills’ Week 11 matchup against the Cleveland Browns has officially been moved to Detroit.
The NFL announced on Thursday that the game was being relocated due to safety concerns in light of the ongoing weather emergency in Western New York. Orchard Park is set to get hit with three-plus feet of snow between today and Sunday. Considering the difficulties with clearing the stadium and having people travel safely to the game, it was decided to move the matchup to Ford Field.
This is not the first time that Buffalo has had a game relocated due to snow.
Back in 2014, a matchup between Buffalo and the New York Jets was moved from Orchard Park to Ford Field in Detroit after a three-day storm brought in about six-feet of snow.
Buffalo will play in back-to-back games at Ford Field. The team will be considered the home team on Sunday against the Browns and will be the away team on Thanksgiving Day when the Lions host them at 12:30 p.m.
A league statement said that details on tickets and other game day information for Sunday’s game in Detroit will be announced shortly. The Bills will provide information to fans with tickets to the game originally scheduled for Orchard Park.
