The Buffalo Bills took care of business at home defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-17.
Buffalo’s victory ensures another home playoff game in the divisional round where they will host a familiar foe, the Kansas City Chiefs. The game is scheduled to be played on Sunday, January 21 at 6:30 p.m. on CBS. While the opponent is familiar, there is one big difference. Next Sunday’s game will be the first time that Patrick Mahomes has played in a playoff game on the road.
While the Bills will have homefield advantage, the team can only hope that they will be healthy for the matchup. Buffalo entered tonight’s game against the Steelers without their No. 2 receiver (Gabe Davis), top cornerback (Rasul Douglas), a starting linebacker (Tyrel Dodson) and their third safety (Taylor Rapp).
Injuries continued to pile up for Buffalo in their victory against the Steelers. Their emerging star linebacker Terrel Bernard was carted off with an ankle injury. Baylon Spector, starting in place of Dodson, left with a back injury, the team’s No. 2 cornerback Christian Benford suffered a knee injury and Taron Johnson, arguably the best nickel cornerback in the league, exited with a head injury.
Following tonight’s win on Monday, Buffalo will have a short week to get some of their players back on the field.
