The Buffalo Bills worked out five players on Friday, but one name stood out among the crowd.
La’el Collins, a former offensive tackle with the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals, was given an audition of sorts by the team. Collins, 30, has not played to date this season. He was released off of the Bengals’ reserve/PUP list back in September after suffering a torn left ACL and MCL injury in a Week 16 game against the New England Patriots in 2022.
In his career, Collins has appeared in 89 games and recorded 86 starts. To start his career with Cowboys, Collins played at left guard (2015-2016). He was moved to right tackle in 2017. From that point through 2021, Collins would make 57 starts. He would miss the 2020 season due to a neck stinger suffered in a car accident and groin injuries.
In 2022, the Bengals signed Collins to a three-year contract. He would only last one season due to the ACL and MCL injuries suffered last season.
Collins’ days as a starter may be behind him, but he could give Buffalo veteran depth at tackle and guard.
