West Genesee hockey coach earns 500th career win: West Genesee boys hockey coach Frank Colabufo earned his 500th career victory as the Wildcats topped previously unbeaten Suffern 4-2 on Thursday in the title game of his team’s tournament at Shove Park. Colabufo is the sixth boys hockey coach in state history to reach that level. He has guided West Genesee to three state championships in his 30 seasons running the program. “I told (the team) it means a lot to me that we’re celebrating 500 wins with not just you but every kid that played here since the start of the ‘94-95 season,” Colabufo said. “It ties 30 teams together. For me, that’s pretty humbling.”
