Chevy Chase says ‘Community’ wasn’t funny enough
“Community” wasn’t funny enough, according to the guy who starred on 83 episodes of the TV show. “I honestly felt the show wasn’t funny enough for me, ultimately. I felt a little bit constrained,” Chevy Chase said in a new interview on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast. “Everybody had their bits, and I thought they were all good. It just wasn’t hard-hitting enough for me.” Chase, who was fired from the show after using a racial slur on set, added that he “didn’t want to be surrounded by that table, every day, with those people,” but denied being difficult to work with. “Community,” which also starred Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover and Ken Jeong, aired on NBC from 2009 to 2015; a movie sequel is expected to be released next year.
‘DWTS’ won’t be postponed
ET reports “Dancing with the Stars” will go on as scheduled Tuesday night after the Writers Guild of America struck a tentative deal with the AMPTP, ending a nearly five-month strike. ABC confirmed Monday that the ballroom competition will premiere as originally planned, days after rumors swirled that it would be delayed when season 32 contestant Matt Walsh said he would postpone his involvement in solidarity with the WGA. Walsh is now expected to be part of the cast when “DWTS” premieres Tuesday at 8 p.m.
