A morning news anchor at CNY Central is leaving the Syracuse television station after four years.
Amanda Hull announced the “bittersweet” news that Friday would be her last day at WSTM-TV, the local NBC affiliate on Channel 3.
“It’s been an absolute honor to tell the stories of CNYers and meet all the amazing people along the way,” Hull wrote in a social media post. “These last 4 years have flown by. A BIG thank you to everyone who’s welcomed me into your home each morning as I got to pursue my dream job. What a joy and thrill it’s been waking up with you.”
“I’m so grateful for these incredible people who I got to spend early mornings, holidays, big life changes and endless laughs with,” she continued. “I will be staying in CNY and am so excited to announce the next step in my journey.”
Hull, a 2019 University of Alabama graduate, joined CNY Central in January 2020, according to her LinkedIn profile. She worked as a news anchor and reporter before replacing Frankie Jupiter as NBC 3 (WSTM) morning news anchor last year, co-hosting “Today in Central New York” alongside Lisa Spitz and meteorologist Sam Postich.
According to cnyradio.com, Hull also provided morning news updates daily on local radio station 95.3 / 103.9 The Dinosaur (WSEN-FM).
CNY Central did not say who would be replacing Hull. CNY Central, which includes NBC 3 (WSTM), CW 6 (WSTQ) and CBS 5 (WTVH) in Syracuse, is operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group.
