Syracuse, N.Y. -- Construction could start next year on a five-building, 68-unit housing development for low-income residents on the Near West Side, one of Syracuse’s poorest neighborhoods.

The Syracuse Planning Commission is expected to vote on approving site plans for La Liga Westside Village at its next meeting, which is scheduled for Dec. 11. Representatives for the project presented plans for the apartments to the commission Nov. 20.
