North Syracuse, N.Y. — Did you misplace your cellphone or wallet at the New York State Fair? How about a jacket or glasses?
Your lost valuables may have been found.
During the fair, all items left items behind at the Geddes fairgrounds are kept at the New York State Police’s on-site station near Suburban Park — stored neatly in a sorted, labeled cupboard. Now that the fair is over, all unclaimed valuables have been transferred to the state police barracks in North Syracuse near the Syracuse Hancock International Airport, said Trooper Jack Keller, a state police spokesman.
On Friday, the lost-and-found stash included 13 phones and over a dozen wallets and purses, ranging from a black Juicy Couture card holder to a brown leather wallet containing a $100 bill. A GoPro, a dark-colored coat and a glasses case were also in the cache.
Most impressively: Good Samaritans turned in a few wads of lost cash.
