Syracuse, N.Y. – An expert in the science of eyewitness testimony took the stand in a Syracuse murder trial Friday to call into question the reliability of a key witness against a man accused of a fatal shooting.

Nancy Steblay, a researcher and Augsburg University emeritus professor, was called by Kenneth Kinsey’s defense attorneys to testify on ways the memory of eyewitnesses can change and potentially lead to false identifications.
