Syracuse, N.Y. -- More than 900 people had their Kias and Hyundais stolen in Onondaga County last year.

That’s enough victims to fill the village of Elbridge, and 10 times more thefts car than in 2022. Thefts of cars made by those manufacturers skyrocketed locally and nationwide, fed by security flaws that make the cars easy to steal.
