For the next three Saturdays, horse-drawn carriage rides will return to downtown Syracuse.

The new Syracuse restaurant LM Social partnered with CNY Horse & Carriage to offer “magical holiday rides” through the heart of Syracuse during downtown’s most festive season. The rides will be available at 20-minute intervals on Dec. 9, Dec. 16 and Dec. 23. (See below for booking details.)

Guests have the option to pay extra for dining vouchers to use at dinner at LM Social. LM Social was the next evolution of Le Mélange, the self-anointed vibe dining restaurant that opened in October 2022.

It outgrew its West Fayette Street home (previously The Stoop) and moved to the space formerly inhabited by Lemon Grass on West Jefferson Street in August 2023. Their menu is described as French-inspired, though there are Italian, Greek and North African influences throughout.

Horse-drawn carriage rides have been a long-standing tradition at Syracuse Winterfest each February, but rarely have been available in December.

LM Social restaurant reservations must be made on Open Table in order to purchase a carriage package. Your dining voucher can be used any time.

Interested guests can book online and choose a 20-minute interval for their ride on Saturdays from 1-8 p.m. Guests should check in 15 minutes early to be eligible to ride.

Guests can choose from one of three carriage ride packages at varying price levels.

  • Package 1: 15-minute ride for $50.
  • Package 2: 15-minute ride and $100 LM Social dining voucher for $125
  • Package 3: 15-minute ride with Veuve Clicquot champagne, hot chocolate, a $125 dining voucher and a Jim Beam promotion for $225
