Residents of Upstate New York metro areas paid less for goods and services in 2022 than the national average, sometimes by double-digit amounts, according to new data.
Prices for all items and services were lower than the nationwide average in all 10 Upstate metros with data available. Prices were lowest in the Utica-Rome area, where residents paid more than 10% less than the national average for goods and services in 2022.
