The Virginia Tech Hokies and No. 23 Tulane Green Wave will play each other at the 2023 Military Bowl presented by GoBowling.com at at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland on Wednesday, December 27 (12/27/2023) at 2 p.m. ET.

These two teams are meeting for the first time since 1989, when Virginia Tech won 30-13, and the Hokies hold a 5-4 all-time lead in the series, which dates to 1956. It marks a whopping 35th bowl appearance for Virginia Tech, and the 16th for the Green Wave.
Virginia Tech will make its first bowl appearance with Brent Pry as head coach, after Pry led the Hokies to a 6-6 season where they became bowl eligible in their final win over Virginia, 55-17. Kyron Drones went 10-22, and threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns during the season-ending victory.
The Green Wave are 11-2 overall, losing just one game during the regular season before dropping the AAC Championship game 26-14 against No. 17 SMU. It will be Tulane’s fifth bowl trip in the last six years, and they are currently 3-1 in those appearances, most recently beating USC at the Cotton Bowl Classic in 2022.
