It’s going to be hot today for the last day of the New York State Fair.
The good news is the forecast calls for slightly lower temperatures than originally expected, but it is still a day to drink lots of water and find some shade.
If you can, heading to the fair early or going this evening will help you escape the worst of the heat a bit.
Temperatures will peak at 89 degrees from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. when the heat index will hit 93 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The humidity is forecast to be 50%.
The dew point will be 68 degrees which the weather service describes as oppressive.
The weather service has issued a heat advisory warning for the region from noon to 7 p.m.
On the positive side, there is no rain forecast.
