Former longtime Central NY supervisor admits to stealing nearly $11K from town

Auburn, N.Y. — A former longtime town supervisor in Cayuga County admitted Thursday to stealing almost $11,000 from the town over nearly three years.

William M. Tarby, 58, who served as the town of Throop’s supervisor for 17 years, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny and official misconduct. He appeared Thursday morning before Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone.

The grand larceny charge is a felony and the misconduct charge is a misdemeanor.
