Throop, N.Y. — A former longtime town supervisor in Cayuga County has been accused of official misconduct and stealing more than a thousand dollars, according to the state police.

William M. Tarby, 56, who served as the town of Throop’s supervisor for 17 years, was charged Thursday with fourth-degree grand larceny and official misconduct, according to State Police records.

The grand larceny charge is a felony and the misconduct charge is a misdemeanor.
