King Ferry, N.Y. — A man was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital Thursday after he was kicked by a cow and then hit his head, firefighters said.

At 10:34 p.m. firefighters from the King Ferry Fire Department arrived at Belltown Dairy at 181 Mahaney Rd., said Guy Van Benschoten, the public information officer for the King Ferry Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived the fire chief called for a helicopter to airlift the man, who worked at the farm, to Upstate University Hospital, said Van Benschoten. The man had a traumatic injury, he said.
