Rochester, N.Y. — A man is facing prison time after he secretly sank a boat in Lake Ontario and then lied to police about it not being his boat, prosecutors said.

Vyacheslav S. Migitskiy, 33, of Rochester, took a boat out into Lake Ontario and then sank it around August 26, 2022, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Northern District of New York.

Several people called 911 reporting the boat was partially submerged about half a mile offshore of Little Pond, Rochester, prosecutors said.
