Man hospitalized after being shot on north side of Syracuse, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was hospitalized after being shot on the north side of Syracuse on Friday, police said.

At 12:16 a.m. police arrived at a home on the 600 block of First North Street, where a 34-year-old man had been shot, said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesperson for the Syracuse police.

The man had been shot in the arm and midsection, Malinowski said. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is expected to survive.
