Syracuse, N.Y. — A man stole a Syracuse University truck on Saturday and then wandered around with a hatchet until police arrested him, police said.

The truck, a Ford F-150, was taken around 1:57 p.m. from the University’s Physical Plant at 285 Ainsley Dr., said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesperson for Syracuse Police. The car was found almost three miles away at 120 Trinity Place.

People on the 100 block of Trinity Place started to call 911, reporting a man on the porch of 426 Greenwood Place with a hatchet, he said.
