Syracuse, N.Y. — A man who drove a van into a fire department SUV and fire engine in Syracuse was impaired at the time of the crash, police said.

At 10:59 a.m. Saturday, an AMR ambulance, Syracuse Fire Department SUV and fire engine were parked outside 2574 Erie Boulevard East, said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a spokesperson for Syracuse police.
