Syracuse, N.Y. -- The mother of an 11-year-old girl fatally shot in Syracuse while walking home from a nearby store in January addressed her killers in court Tuesday as the two were sentenced to prison.
“January 16 was the worst day of my life,” Brexialee’s mom, Brenlee Ortiz, said through tears at the sentencing. “They decided it was okay for her to die.”
