Update 11:45 p.m.: Only 577 power outages are being reported in the county, with most being in Otisco.
Update 9 p.m.: National Grid is now reporting 3,529 customer outages in the county. Most are concentrated in Skaneateles and Otisco.
Update 8:25 p.m. More than 2,500 outages are being reported in Skaneateles. Fire crews were sent at 8:09 p.m. to Tamarack Trail for downed wires, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center.
Update 8:05 p.m.: Most outages in the county have been fixed. Only 62 remain, according to National Grid.
Syracuse, N.Y. — More than 1,000 National Grid customers are without power Tuesday in Onondaga County as a storm passes through Upstate New York.
The outages are concentrated in the southern towns of Tully and Otisco. They have 1,000 outages combined, according to National Grid’s outage map.
The power company is reporting 1,218 outages in the county as of 7:30 p.m.
NYSEG is also reporting 222 outages in Spafford.
Tuesday’s storm brought a mix of wet snow and rain with strong winds. The strongest winds in Syracuse is expected to arrive by 9 p.m. The National Weather Service predicts gusts will reach 51 mph.
Many schools announced early dismissals and cancelation of after-school activities in anticipation of the storm.
