New York’s trip west got off to a rocky start Thursday night, when they took a 5-1 beating at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights. The reigning Stanley Cup Champs made short work of the Blueshirts, snapping their two-game winning streak along the way.
The Rangers were back 4-0 before Mika Zibanejad finally found the net on a carried-over power play 40 seconds into the third period. Igor Shesterkin was not giving his usual heroic performance, saving 21 of 25. New York will get another crack at Vegas before the end of the month, when they play host at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers are now 28-14-2, but still in command of the Metropolitan Division as they face down the Kings (21-13-8). LA is coming off a 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators. Here’s how to watch the game.
