Syracuse, N.Y. – A 26-year-old pregnant woman who was shot in the head Friday morning near downtown Syracuse has been declared brain dead, according to District Attorney William Fitzpatrick.

Apreona Harris, of Syracuse, was outside of the Rescue Mission campus around 9:30 a.m. when she was shot in the 100 block of Dickerson Street, Fitzpatrick said.
