Syracuse, N.Y. — A reported shooting at the Destiny USA mall Saturday night appears to have been teens with a BB gun, police said.

The shooting was reported at 7:27 p.m., sending police and ambulance crews to a mall filled with last-minute holiday shoppers.

A caller reported that someone was shot outside the Footlocker, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

Police believe it was only teenagers with a toy gun and plastic pellets, said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a Syracuse police spokesperson. No injuries or damage were reported, he said.

The mall was closed temporarily while police investigated, Malinowski said. It has since reopened.
