The Syracuse Orange face another tough, ranked opponent — the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs — in their next game at the Maui Invitational at SimpliFi Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii on Tuesday, November 21 (11/21/2023) at 2:30 p.m. ET.

The Orange are coming off their first loss of the season in the tournament opener against Tennessee, with a final score of 73-56. The Vols showed the Orange the importance of rebounds in the win, crushing Syracuse 48-33 on the backboards and outscoring them 14-5 on second chance points.
Gonzaga also dropped its Maui Invitational opener 73-63 to No. 2 Purdue, setting up Tuesday’s game against Syracuse. The Orange and the Zags are not familiar foes, but Syracuse has won both prior meetings between the teams, most recently in the 2015-2016 season, where the Orange won 63-60.
Guards Judah Mintz and JJ Starling will need to improve in their second showing of the tournament if they hope to beat Gonzaga. They finished with a combined 8-for-27 from the field on Monday.
