Syracuse ranks No. 2 among big US cities for child poverty: Syracuse has the second-highest child poverty rates in the U.S. among larger cities, according to census estimates released Thursday. While the city’s child poverty rate has actually has been falling for the last few years, rates in other cities have fallen, too, and often by much bigger amounts. Here’s a look at the numbers, and a list of the 25 U.S. cities with the highest rates.
