Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Rescue Mission’s community Christmas party, scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the homeless shelter, has been postponed.

A pregnant woman was shot near the shelter this morning. She is in critical condition. It’s still unclear if she or the shooter were residents of the shelter, or clients of the Rescue Mission.

Victoria Shires, a spokeswoman for the Rescue Mission, said the Christmas party will be rescheduled. The free event was to be catered by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.
