Your chance to own the W.C. Lipe Mansion at 112-114 Summit and Ruskin Avenue in Syracuse is here. Again.
The historic house, built in 1903 and designed by the well-known local architect Archimedes Russell, has an asking price of $449,900.
It was listed by Michael Gaulin of Hunt Real Estate ERA.
Local real estate broker Amjad Hasan won the 4,686 sq. ft. landmark at auction in August for $268,322. It has eight bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Hasan told Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard in August that his plans were to “fix it up for resale.”
According to its Zillow listing, the house has many of its original features from a “bygone era,” including an expansive portico, grand foyer, impressive staircase, oak columns, mahogany coffered ceilings, and leaded and stained glass.
The home’s rooms each “have their own character,” including a family room, music room, and library.
The property’s carriage house has also been renovated and can serve as in-law or guest quarters with a full kitchen, family room, bedroom, and marble-trimmed bathroom with a Jacuzzi-style tub.
When it was finished in 1903, the Lipe Mansion, named after owner Willard Lipe, a pioneer of Syracuse industry, was considered state-of-the-art and had no expenses spared in its construction and engineering.
Amenities like a central vacuum system, intercom telephones and light switches downstairs that turned on lights upstairs were included. All the rooms on the second floor were interconnected and had adjoining dressing rooms or washrooms.
