Teen shot, 2 others injured in large fight in Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 16-year-old was shot in the leg and two other people were injured in a fight Sunday night on Syracuse’s South Side.

Police were called to the 200 block of Warner Avenue around 10:08 p.m. after a 911 caller reported someone had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the leg, a 17-year-old boy with several lacerations to his back and a 36-year-old woman with facial injuries and lacerations to her back, said Syracuse Police Sgt. Matt Malinowski, a department spokesman. The latter two were injured with an “edged” weapon, Malinowski said.

All three were taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment. All are expected to survive their injuries, police said.

Takisha Hordge, 22, was arrested in connection to the fight. She was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is currently being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center.

Police also said Medeena Coley, 21, struck a police officer on the scene. She was charged with second-degree harassment, a violation, and released on an appearance ticket.
