The Troy Trojans will play the Duke Blue Devils to kick off the second big Saturday of College Football Bowl action at the 76 Birmingham Bowl at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama on December 23 (12/23/2023) at 12 p.m. ET.

The Blue Devils finished 7-5 overall and 4-4 in the ACC under Mike Elko, but Elko has already exited the program for a job at Texas A&M, leaving Trooper Taylor to lead the team during the bowl game. The Blue Devils have also seen a substantial list of departing players ahead of the game, including quarterback Riley Leonard, which could make for a very different Duke team than fans are used to seeing at the Birmingham Bowl.
Duke finished with a 30-19 win over Pittsburgh, but despite a winning season, the Blue Devils only managed to win two of their final six games. The Troy Trojans, meanwhile, enter the Bowl off a 10-game winning streak. They won the Sun Belt Conference Championship 49-23 over Appalachian State, and are 11-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play.
These two teams are no slouches at recent bowl appearances, with Troy winning its last five in a row, and Duke its last four, but this is the first Birmingham Bowl game for each team. Here’s how to watch.
