Syracuse, N.Y. — An Upstate New York man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Syracuse federal court to having sex with a teen, prosecutors said.

Charles Bodie, 49, of Otsego County pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child. He accepted a plea deal for 17.5 to 21.8 years in prison, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York said in a news release.

Chief U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes will have to accept the terms at sentencing in May for the deal to go through. Bodie faced a maximum sentence of 30 years without the deal.
