An Upstate New York worker has been killed in an accident during salt delivery ahead of winter weather expected this weekend.

WHAM reports police are investigating the fatal accident that occurred Thursday morning at a property maintenance business on Perinton Parkway in the Monroe County town of Perinton, N.Y. Deputies responded to the scene around 8:45 a.m.

According to the Rochester TV station, investigators determined crews were preparing salt to be transported across the region when one worker slipped and fell under a truck that was unloading salt into a bucket. The worker was run over and killed.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

According to weather reports, temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s Saturday after an unseasonably warm week. A dense fog advisory was issued Thursday for multiple counties in Western New York, and snow flurries are possible over the weekend.
