Syracuse, N.Y. — More than 136,000 people flew to Atlanta from Syracuse between October 2022 and September 2023, making it the most common destination for people flying from Syracuse in that time span, according to a recent list from Stacker.
Ten percent of all passengers flying from Syracuse Hancock International Airport were traveling to Atlanta, Stacker said.
Stacker compiled the list using data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Destinations were ranked by total passengers who flew to each location from Syracuse.
After Atlanta, Chicago ranked second and Charlotte, North Carolina was third.
The list doesn’t reflect passengers’ ultimate destination, just the most common domestic flights originating from Hancock. In America’s hub system of flying, most Syracuse passengers have connections before reaching their final stops.
Atlanta is the nation’s busiest airport and is the primary hub for Delta Airlines.
