These two 6-6 teams will fight to finish the season with a winning record. The Panthers have lost their last five straight games after a promising start to the season, including a 25-24 heartbreaker against Old Dominion to finish the regular season. Georgia State had a 14-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, and watched it evaporate over the next 15 minutes of game time, unable to fire back with more than a single field goal.

The Utah State Aggies are coming from the opposite direction. They won three of their final four games of the season, and only became bowl eligible in their last game — a 44-41 overtime win against New Mexico. Levi Williams rushed for 153 yards, 25 carries and three touchdowns to secure the win.

This is the first meeting between the two teams, and Georgia State’s first time at the Potato Bowl. The Aggies will be making their fifth Potato Bowl appearance.
