The UCF Knights (6-6) had a difficult first season of Big 12 play, but they became bowl eligible with a 27-13 win over Houston in the final week of the regular season. RJ Harvey rushed for 136 yards, 21 carries and two touchdowns to claw back from a first quarter deficit and secure the win.
Georgia Tech (6-6) was tied for fourth in the ACC under first-year coach Brent Key, who led the team to a 5-3 finish in the conference despite losing 31-23 in their last game of the season against No. 6 Georgia.
The Yellow Jackets are seasoned bowl vets, and have won 25 of their 45 total postseason bowl games, but they are on the hunt for their first win since beating Kentucky in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl. UCF has a 6-8 bowl record, with their last win coming 29-17 over Florida at the 2021 Gasparilla Bowl.
