Players and coaches returned from last week’s embarrassing loss to North Carolina and sat down for a film session. That review seemed to pay dividends, as the Orange returned to the court on Tuesday night to beat the Pittsburgh Panthers 69-58 on the road.
J.J. Starling led the Orange with 17 points, and was one of three players that scored in the double digits, including Judah Mintz (14) and Chris Bell (10). It was the first time the Orange managed a win over Pittsburgh since 2020.
Now the Orange look to beat Miami for the first time since 2021, and snap a three-game losing streak against the Hurricanes. Last time they played, the Orange fell 82-78 in Coral Gables, Florida. Syracuse holds a 19-12 lead in the all-time series.
