After helping lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills, Patrick Mahomes wasted no time getting on social media to troll Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins.
In a post on Instagram, Mahomes added a few pictures from the game along with the caption, “Good luck.”
The good luck in quotes was a shot at Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins. Leading up to the game, Dawkins talked about the atmosphere at Highmark Stadium potentially playing a role in the outcome of the game.
“Pat [Mahomes has] only been here once, so he’s never been here — simple as that,” Dawkins told ESPN leading up to the game. “Pat has never been to the Bills stadium in full.... The environment will be different, and not to say it’s in our favor, but stadium is our favor. Stadium is us. That helps us. I don’t care what nobody says.”
Dawkins added, “This is the most dopest feeling I’ve ever had. We’re having two back-to-back playoff games [at] home. Come on now, like we get to leave and go eat wings. It’s cool. So good luck.”
The good luck part of Dawkins’ comments stuck with Mahomes and perhaps gave the quarterback some bulletin board material for the game. To Mahomes and the Chiefs’ credit, the crowd noise at Highmark Stadium did not seem to bother the offense much, if at all, on Sunday night.
Despite Mahomes trolling him, Dawkins responded to Mahomes Instagram post writing, “15: Good luck down the stretch. Go get another one.”
