Some big names are coming to Upstate New York this year.

2024 concerts in Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and everything in between include Rock and Roll Hall of Famers like Bruce Springsteen and Sammy Hagar, Top 40 hitmakers like Pink and Drake, newer stars like Hozier and Laufey, and ‘90s/2000s rock nostalgia from Creed, Limp Bizkit and Hootie & The Blowfish. Bryan is a country singer-songwriter and a U.S. Navy veteran from Oklahoma. Fall Out Boy with Jimmy Eat World

The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie

The 20th anniversary show will feature full album performances of “Give Up” by The Postal Service and “Transatlanticism” by Death Cab for Cutie, which were both released in 2003. Both groups are led by indie/alternative rock singer Ben Gibbard, who collaborated with electronic musician Dntel (Jimmy Tamborello) on The Postal Service as a side project to DCFC.

McLachlan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her 1993 album, “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy,” featuring the hits “Possession” and “Hold On.” The Grammy winner plans to play the album in its entirety, plus other hits like “I Will Remember You,” “Building a Mystery,” “Sweet Surrender” and the ASPCA favorite “Angel.”

June 30 at Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival (SPAC, StubHub, VividSeats)

It’s unclear if Syracuse Jazz Fest is happening this year, but jazz fans can get their fix at the Rochester International Jazz Festival (June 21-29) or Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival (June 29-30) at the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs. Both will feature Laufey, a newly popular Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter and cellist known for hits “Valentine” and “From the Start,” and Samara Joy, who won Best New Artist at the 2023 Grammys.

The Fred Durst-led band will led the nu metal movement with rap-rock hits like “Nookie,” “Re-Arranged,” “Break Stuff” and “Rollin’ (Urban Assault Vehicle).” Their “Loserville” tour will be their first show in Upstate New York in more than a decade and feature special guests BONES with Eddy Baker & Zavier Wulf, N8NOFACE, and Corey Feldman (yes, that Corey Feldman) — plus Riff Raff as host and MC.

Foreigner & Styx with John Waite

Foreigner, the classic rock band behind “Hot Blooded” and “Cold as Ice,” is extending its farewell tour into 2024. Joining the fun is Styx, the Grammy-nominated rock band known for hits “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Mr. Roboto” and “Renegade,” and Waite, the British singer known for his work with Bad English (“When I See You Smile”), The Babys (“Everytime I Think of You”) and as a solo artist (“Missing You”).

NKOTB’s Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, Jordan Knight and Jonathan Knight are known for hits “Hangin’ Tough,” “Step By Step,” and “The Right Stuff.” Wahlberg was famously injured in 1990 when he fell through a trap door at the boy band’s Saratoga Raceway concert. He was hospitalized and treated for a chest bruise and cuts on his arms, neck and lower lip — he still has a scar under his chin from the incident.

Aerosmith

The legendary rock band postponed its “Peace Out” farewell tour after singer Steven Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury. Rescheduled tour dates have not been announced, but guitarist Joe Perry recently told The Boston Globe that Aerosmith is aiming to hit the road in “late summer and fall of ‘24.”
